Privacy Policy
The short version
- Kreds never asks for your bank password or card numbers. Linking a bank is optional, for members, and handled by Plaid.
- We only know which cards you carry, and only if you tell us.
- No advertising SDKs, no cross-app tracking, and we never sell your data.
- If you tap Apply on a card, we send the affiliate network a random click ID, never your identity.
- Payments go through Apple. We never see your payment details.
- Delete your account and all synced data any time from the app's Settings.
Kreds is made by Alpha Original LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Kreds app and the kreds-app.netlify.app website collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at contact@alphaoriginal.co.
What Kreds does
You tell Kreds which credit cards you have. When you're about to buy something, Kreds points you to the card in your wallet that earns the most for that category. The recommendation runs on your phone using a catalog of publicly available card reward rates.
Information we collect
Your wallet
The list of card products you add (for example, "Chase Sapphire Preferred"), any options you pick for a card, and when you added it. We never collect card numbers, expiration dates, security codes, balances, statements, or purchases. Your wallet is stored on your device. If you sign in, it is also synced to our servers so you can restore it on a new phone.
Account (optional)
Kreds works without an account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a unique, app-specific identifier and, only if you allow it, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your real email behind a relay address, and we fully support that. We store the identifier, the email if shared, and your subscription plan status.
Card lookups
If you add a card that isn't in our catalog yet, the app sends the card's name to our server, which uses Anthropic's Claude to look up that card's published reward rates from public sources. Only the card product name is sent, never your identity or wallet contents. The result is added to a shared catalog that benefits every Kreds user.
Text you type to plan spending
When you describe upcoming purchases ("Costco run, gas, flights to Denver") or search for a merchant, Kreds needs to work out which spending category each item belongs to. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence this happens entirely on your device using Apple's on-device model, and the text never leaves your phone. On other devices the text is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude for classification. This text is not linked to your account, is not stored beyond short-lived operational logs, and is not used to train AI models.
Purchases
Kreds membership is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells us only whether your subscription is active. We never receive your payment method or billing address.
Diagnostics
Development builds keep a diagnostic log on your device. It stays on your phone unless you choose to share it with us. Our servers keep short-lived operational logs (timestamps, request types, error messages) needed to keep the service running. These do not contain your wallet or personal details.
Card application referrals
Some cards you don't hold show an Apply button. When you tap it, our server creates a random click identifier and records the card, which screen you were on, the time, an anonymous install identifier for the app on your phone, the app version, and, if you are signed in, your account identifier. The click identifier is then passed to an affiliate network (see Advertiser Disclosure) as part of the link that opens the issuer's website. The network never receives your name, email, Apple identifier, wallet, or anything else about you. If the issuer approves your application, the network reports the approval and any commission back to us against that click identifier; we never see the application itself. We keep click and conversion records so we can reconcile payouts with the network. If you delete your account, these records are unlinked from it and become anonymous.
Bank linking (optional, members only)
Members can link a bank so Kreds can see what happened on their cards. Linking goes through Plaid: you sign in on your bank's own page and Plaid gives Kreds a token, never your password. We read only credit-card accounts. For each account we keep its name, the last four digits, and which Kreds card you said it is. For each transaction we receive the date, amount, description, the bank's category, and whether it was pending; we never receive location, counterparties, or account owner details. Transactions pass through our servers only long enough to reach your iPhone (they are deleted once your phone confirms receipt, and after 30 days regardless) and are then kept on your iPhone for 13 months. Kreds uses them to tick off credits as they post, notice your annual fee, and tell you when another card would have earned more. Disconnect a bank any time from Settings → Bank accounts; deleting your account disconnects every bank at Plaid. Plaid's handling of your data is described in Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
Website waitlist
If you enter your email on our coming-soon page, we store it to notify you when Kreds launches. That's the only thing we use it for.
What we don't collect
- Location, contacts, photos, or microphone
- Bank or issuer passwords, or full card numbers
- Transaction data, unless you link a bank; even then it only passes through our servers on its way to your iPhone
- Advertising identifiers or data from third-party ad or analytics SDKs
How we use information
- To recommend the best card in your wallet
- To sync and restore your wallet across your devices when you're signed in
- To keep the shared card catalog accurate and up to date
- To manage your membership and provide support
- To keep the service secure and running
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We do record card application referrals as described above.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run Kreds. Each only receives what it needs.

Retention and deletion
Your wallet stays on your device until you delete the app or remove cards. Synced wallet and account data stay on our servers while your account exists.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Kreds account → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account, your synced wallet, and any email address we hold for you from our servers. Card application referral records are kept for payout reconciliation but are unlinked from your account, so they no longer identify you. If you can't access the app, email contact@alphaoriginal.co from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days. To leave the waitlist, email the same address.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Access to our servers is limited to the people who run Kreds. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep the amount of data we hold as small as we can.
Children
Kreds is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses. Email us and we will honor your request. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continued use of Kreds after a change means you accept the updated policy.
